What is Reiki? 

The dictionary definition is “Reiki is a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy by means of touch or placing the hands within the client’s aura, to activate the natural healing process and restore physical and emotional well-being. “ It is a non-invasive, gentle, alternative healing method that can support relaxation and promote wellbeing and should be used to compliment and never replace any prescribed treatment or medication. 

For me, it provides a break from the constant busyness and noise of life. A moment to relax, find calm, breathe.

What does it involve? 

As with all treatments, an initial assessment will be conducted and I would explain what you can expect from the session. The client remains fully clothed for the duration, while wearing comfortable clothing to promote relaxation and comfort, to make the most of the treatment. I use a treatment couch but adjustments can be made if this doesn’t meet your needs.

What can I expect? 

Reiki can be different for everyone, some may feel Reiki healing immediately during treatment like warmth, tingling and a sense of lightness or just immense relaxation. Reiki should not be given to those with a pacemaker or diabetes. A full consultation will be conducted before the first treatment.
